WSP Mining UK supports clients across the full mine lifecycle — from early‑stage studies through design, execution, operational support, and closure. Whether your background is in geotechnical engineering, geology, mining engineering, tailings, hydrogeology, geostructural design, or underground works, we want to hear from you.

A little more about our roles…

Depending on your discipline and experience, your work may include:

Technical Delivery

  • Producing clear, professional, and technically robust reports
  • Preparing ground or geological models, engineering design inputs, and parameters
  • Conducting analysis of slopes, foundations, retaining structures, tailings facilities, mine workings, or underground excavations
  • Supporting technical assessments for mining studies (concept, PFS, FS), hydrogeological assessments, geostructural design, or mine waste engineering
  • Contributing to sustainable design approaches and improving the integration of digital, 3D and data‑driven tools across project delivery

 

Project & Site Work

  • Liaising with clients and coordinating effectively with multidisciplinary colleagues
  • Supervising ground investigations, construction activities, site inspections, or operational monitoring
  • Supporting risk assessments and applying strong ground‑risk or operational‑risk awareness in design and advice
  • Providing specialist input for mine design, mine water management, TSF design, or underground stability

 

Development & Leadership

  • Using our structured technical training frameworks to support your own development
  • Sharing knowledge across the Mining team — we promote a culture of collective learning and support
  • (For experienced professionals) Leading key project packages, contributing to business development, steering complex workstreams, and mentoring junior colleagues

 

What we’ll be looking for you to demonstrate…

  • A strong appreciation of ground risk, site investigation, or mining/operational risk, depending on discipline
  • A solid understanding of basic engineering, geological, or mining principles
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce high‑quality reports and deliverables
  • Ambition to progress towards chartered or professional status (CEng, CGeol, EurGeol or equivalent)
  • (For experienced applicants) Credible consultancy experience, technical leadership, or demonstrated expertise in your field
