Description

Department: Yuno Energy Heat

Location: Hybrid - Sandyford, Dublin 18

Reports to: Head of District Heating Network Development

Salary: €55,000 – €65,000 (depending on level of experience).

About Yuno Energy Heat

Yuno Energy Heat, part of the Yuno Group, is Ireland’s only company fully dedicated to developing and operating district heating networks. We connect homes and buildings to low-carbon, renewable heat instead of individual gas boilers with 15,000 consumers over 95 communal district heating developments today. District heating already serves around 70 million customers across the EU; in Ireland it’s just getting started, with Tallaght as the country’s first utility-scale network. We have live utility-scale DH projects under development, with a growing pipeline as Ireland’s district heating market develops.

The role

We’re hiring a Project Manager to take district heating schemes from development through to construction completion. You’ll run projects end to end: securing grant funding, leading the procurement of consultants and contractors,

and managing the construction contracts and consultant appointments that follow. You’ll work closely with our Head of District Heating Network Development, our commercial and engineering teams, and external stakeholders including local authorities, developers, SEAI and the CRU.

This role combines renewable energy delivery experience with procurement expertise across every stage of a renewables energy project. Our projects sit at different stages at any one time, so you’ll be managing a live pipeline rather than a single linear job.

Responsibilities

  • Own delivery of one or more district heating projects from feasibility through to construction and handover to our O&M team, moving each scheme through its key gates: feasibility, design, planning, funding award, procurement and construction.
  • Lead procurement of consultants, contractors and delivery partners — preparing tender documents, running competitive processes, evaluating bids, and negotiating and awarding contracts.
  • Manage construction contracts and consultant appointments once awarded — administering the contract, certifying payments, controlling variations and claims, and holding contractors and consultants to scope, programme and cost.
  • Prepare and manage grant funding applications, including SEAI and DCEE Pre-Construction Fund submissions, and manage compliance and reporting once funding is awarded.
  • Manage project budgets, programmes and risk registers, and report progress against agreed milestones to the steering group.
  • Act as the primary point of contact with contractors, consultants and internal teams once construction begins, ensuring health, safety and quality standards are met throughout.
  • Bring working knowledge of renewable and low-carbon heat generation — heat pumps, waste heat recovery, CHP — to technical decisions and the business case for each scheme.
  • Support the Head of District Heating Network Development in building consultant and contractor relationships as we grow the team and pipeline.

What you’ll bring

  • At least 5 years’ project management experience in renewable energy, energy infrastructure or utilities. District heating experience is an advantage but not essential given how new the Irish market is.
  • Demonstrated procurement experience: running competitive tenders, and negotiating and managing contracts. Familiarity with NEC or FIDIC forms of contract is a plus.
  • Contract management experience on both sides of award: administering construction contracts on site, and managing consultant contracts put in place following a procurement process.
  • Working knowledge of renewable or low-carbon heat technologies and their role in decarbonising heat.
  • A track record managing multi-stakeholder infrastructure projects involving councils, developers or regulators.
  • A degree in engineering, energy, construction management or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A project management qualification (PRINCE2, PMP or APM) is desirable.
  • Full clean driving licence and the right to work in Ireland.
