The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Software QA Engineer with a passion for quality and automation to join our growing engineering team. You’ll be embedded within an agile delivery squad, working closely with developers, architects, and DevOps engineers to deliver high-performing, scalable microservices and backend APIs.

This is a hands-on technical QA role – perfect for engineers who love building robust automation, diving deep into systems, and ensuring software works flawlessly under real-world conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for microservices, APIs, and data pipelines

  • Perform Backend API testing, Database validation, and Integration testing

  • Write BDD tests using Cucumber in a Java-based test framework (JUnit, Maven, Gradle)

  • Automate tests for Spring Boot and Spring Batch applications deployed to OpenShift / Kubernetes clusters

  • Validate SQL queries, stored procedures, and complex data transformations

  • Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines (UDeploy, Jenkins, etc.)

  • Collaborate with developers to define test coverage, quality metrics, and debug issues

  • Use Unix/Linux commands for log analysis, deployment, and validation in distributed environments

  • Work with container orchestration tools like Kubernetes, OpenShift

  • Interact with distributed systems including Kafka, Redis, etc.

Must-Have Skills & Technologies
  • 5 years experience in Java development for test automation

  • Cucumber, JUnit, Maven or Gradle

  • Strong API testing experience (REST, JSON, etc.)

  • Experience testing microservices in production-scale systems

  • Solid SQL knowledge – writing queries, validating stored procedures

  • Spring Boot and Spring Batch familiarity

  • Comfortable with Unix/Linux commands for debugging/logging

  • OpenShift or Kubernetes cluster experience

  • Experience with UDeploy, Redis, and Kafka

Desirable Experience (Nice to Have)
  • Performance or load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling)

  • Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)

  • CI/CD tooling beyond UDeploy (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab)

  • Docker-based containerization

  • AI experience which streamline test activities resulting in improved product quality and delivery.
