Location: Dublin
Contract: Full Time, Permanent Contract
The purpose of this role is to manage daily banking, process income journals, and ensure financial compliance at Focus Ireland. Responsibilities include overseeing supplier accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, active participation in budgeting, and effective line management.
What you will do:
To work within the framework of the overall objectives of Focus Ireland.
Preparation and management of monthly management accounts for the fundraising department.
Monthly journal preparation, and review of other team member journals prior to posting.
Administration of the Soldo payments platform, ensuring correct integration with finance system (Microsoft Business Central).
Assist with the day to day running of the Finance Department, answering team queries.
Assist with review of quarterly funder returns to co-funders e.g. local authorities, HSE etc.
Completion of balance sheet reconciliations, including main current account. Review of other team members reconciliations.
Review of monthly creditors reconciliations.
Assistance in preparation of VAT and RCT Revenue returns.
Supporting the Finance Manager in the preparation of the year end audit file.
Manage team of 3 Accounts Assistants.
Management of Receptionist and Reception function.
To participate in relevant training and development courses as agreed with the Finance Manager.
To be vigilant to any Health, Safety and Welfare risks in the workplace and bring any concerns to the attention of the Finance Manager or Health & Safety Representative.
To undertake such other duties as might be reasonably assigned from time to time in consultation with the Finance Manager.
What you will need:
ACA/ ACCA - Qualified accountant with small/medium practice background (Part Qualification may be considered)
Excellent working knowledge of excel, word and other accounting packages.
Proven analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent time management skills with ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Strong communication skills at all levels.
Ability to work well within a team while also taking responsibility for developing own role and being proactive within the team.
Exposure to Grants administration and reporting (Desirable).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Business Central (Desirable).
Understanding of the work of Focus Ireland (Desirable).
