Job Title:  Civil Structural Engineering Internship

The Role: This is a unique and exciting opportunity to join our team on your placement, while engaging in formal trainings that shape part of our placement programme. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of different tasks, gaining valuable experience with one-to-one mentorship from a member of our management team.  

The Responsibilities: As a Civil Structural Design Engineer at H&MV Engineering you will be exposed to all aspects of Civil & Structural Engineering as determined by the scope of the Company’s HV Infrastructure projects. Some tasks listed below:  

• Support the management of Civil & Structural design by consultants in tandem with the in-house electrical design team 

• Undertake civil and structural design for temporary and permanent works in accordance with relevant codes of practice and using industry standard software 

• Assist with the Production of Civil & Structural drawings using 2D and 3D software, and input to BIM requirements on relevant projects 

• Project engineering; Attending project meetings, coordinating design with the lead electrical engineer and the project manager on planning and delivery of Civil & Structural works 

• Assistance with Tendering 

• Ensure compliance with Quality controls and procedures 

• Client interfacing  

• Travel to sites across the company portfolio as required for inspection of construction works

• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, and an interest in software and 3D modelling
