As we continue our journey toward becoming Ireland’s most trusted and sustainable business, we have an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to join our Insight and Innovation Team as a Concept Owner. 

The purpose of this role is to deliver the Musgrave strategy through leading a pipeline of world class innovations which will deliver new growth and new revenue for Musgrave in areas such as Health & Wellness, New Channels & Missions.

Using the Musgrave Innovation Framework, the Concept Owner will lead one or more innovation initiatives at any point in time. The role will work with business units and teams across Musgrave including International and with third party providers and potential Musgrave acquisitions. The role will be supported by a team of innovation leads, who will support on the digital, product, marketing and commercial aspects of each initiative.

What you'll be doing: 

Area of Responsibility:   Innovation portfolio and pipeline of innovation 

•Be a key contributor to the creation of Musgrave’s Innovation portfolio and pipeline of innovation initiatives by ensuring alignment with our long-term Musgrave Strategy

•Collaborate with the Insights & Analytics teams to analyse data and relevant insights to identify and unlock opportunities and initially refine & benchmark agreed innovation initiatives

•Size the potential opportunity of innovation initiatives, assessing the customer desirability of these and analyzing the feasibility of Musgrave implementing the initiatives

•Lead the development of customer proposition – based on the needs / pain-points identified succinctly describe the offer & benefits for the customers

•Lead the development of business models – how will this concept create value for Musgrave, and/or its partners, customers, suppliers

•To develop the commercial targets for “Proof of Concept” and phases of roll-out, including the initial P&L & business case to justify scale-up and to prepare successfully tested initiatives for handover, scaling and rollout.

•To lead the development of innovation initiatives to enable prototyping, initial testing and their validation with customers.

Area of Responsibility:  Commercial Delivery and Stakeholder Management

•Commercial responsibility for delivering agreed P&L and commercial KPI’s for all initiatives.

•To engage and influence senior stakeholders and cross-divisional colleagues on the strategy, vision and opportunity of relevant innovation initiatives.

•To partner and collaborate with teams across Musgrave to develop and drive innovation and to work with Musgrave retailer partners and independent customers to develop and test innovations.

What we are looking for: 

  • Hold a relevant 3rd level degree – Commercial or Marketing preferably.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a commercial role

  • Strategic thinking, project management & planning skills

  • Proven track record of working cross-functionally and ability to manage and influence at all levels of the organisation.

  • Strong attention to detail, influencing, facilitation and collaboration skills.

  • Entrepreneurial and innovative work within a larger organization

  • High levels of commercial acumen, excellent customer relationship and negotiation skills.

Desirable

  • Qualification in Innovation/Innovation Strategy

  • Design thinking trained

  • A track record in innovation and/or creative marketing and brand development, experience in working in a “start-up” environment is desirable.

  • Proven ability to deliver to growth target, on time & on budget

  • People development and mentoring skills
