Senior Ignition Systems Engineer Join NNIT and take a leading role in designing and delivering end to end industrial automation solutions for customers in highly regulated industries. As a Senior Ignition Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of Ignition based OT solutions from early concept and architecture through implementation, commissioning, and ongoing support. You will work closely with customers, project managers, automation specialists, and validation teams to deliver scalable and reliable systems that support critical production environments. The role requires strong technical expertise combined with the ability to lead solution design and drive successful project execution. Location: This role will be a hybrid role with customer site visits expected. Staff or Contractor opportunity Your Responsibilities: Lead end to end system design and delivery of Ignition based SCADA and MES solutions Define solution architectures and technical standards for automation projects Gather and translate customer and business requirements into functional system designs Configure, develop, and implement Ignition applications and integrations Integrate PLCs, databases, MES platforms, historians, and third party systems Participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and handover activities Develop and maintain technical documentation and design specifications Support validation and compliance activities in regulated production environment Standardise use cases and utilise a modular approach to solution design and testing Act as liaison with client PM’s and NNIT delivery resources Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the full system landscape Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure high quality project delivery Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives Your Qualifications: Several years of hands on experience working with Ignition SCADA platforms Strong experience delivering industrial automation projects from design through deployment Strong Life Sciences – GMP environment – industry experience Solid understanding of automation architectures and industrial control systems Experience with PLC integration and industrial communication protocols Knowledge of scripting and database technologies used in Ignition environments Experience working in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or other regulated industries is essential Ability to manage technical complexity and work across multiple project phases Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Professional proficiency in English both written and spoken What We Offer: A key technical role in complex and business critical automation projects Opportunities to work with modern technologies and industry leading platforms A collaborative and knowledge driven work environment Professional development opportunities and continuous learning Flexible working conditions and a strong focus on work life balance At NNIT, we combine deep industry knowledge with strong technical capabilities to help customers improve and modernize critical production systems.
