Purpose Scope of the Role: The Senior Project Communications Manager will lead project communications delivery for complex, high-profile infrastructure projects, with responsibility for developing and implementing consultation and stakeholder engagement strategies. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients and internal teams, managing client relationships and communications contracts across the full project lifecycle. The role involves close collaboration with project managers, engineers, environmental specialists, local authorities, statutory bodies and other external stakeholders to ensure communications outputs are aligned to project objectives, planning requirements and regulatory expectations. You will oversee the preparation and delivery of consultation materials and reports, lead internal and client workshops, attend project team meetings and public consultation events, and support the effective coordination of communications activity across multiple projects. Core Capabilities Trusted Advisor and Client Relationship Leadership: You will act as a subject matter expert, providing strategic project communications advice and guiding clients through complex consultation and engagement processes. You will bring strong judgement, credibility and a collaborative approach to building trusted long-term client relationships. Client and Stakeholder Engagement: You will confidently lead meetings, briefings and consultations with clients, stakeholders and statutory bodies. You will respond to technical queries, translate engineering and planning issues into clear messaging, and support the preparation of consultation reports and hearing-ready material. Project Leadership and Delivery: You will take full ownership of communications delivery across projects, coordinating outputs, managing quality and ensuring timely delivery. You will support resource planning, workload management and team coordination to keep projects aligned with scope, deadlines and client expectations. Strategic and Commercial Awareness: You will contribute to business development, tendering and strategic planning, with awareness of commercial drivers and project performance. You will help identify delivery risks early and support the team in shaping future pipeline and service growth. Risk Management and Governance: You will maintain a strong focus on compliance, quality assurance and performance monitoring. You will support risk management activity, help maintain risk registers and contribute to a culture of accountability, consistency and continuous improvement. Qualifications Experience Required: Significant experience in leading client relationships and service delivery at a senior level Strong background in project communications, consultation strategy and stakeholder engagement Experience working in fast-paced, dynamic environments where prioritisation, delegation and accountability are essential Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project communications activity Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information clearly for diverse audiences Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outputs to deadline Beneficial Experience in infrastructure, planning, public consultation or communications within water, energy, transport or other public sector environments Project Management Experience Experience representing clients at statutory planning hearings Experience mentoring or line managing junior team members Familiarity with tendering, business development and strategic planning activity Training Project management training is available and supported for this role, where appropriate to level. Working Environment This is a senior, collaborative role based across Dublin, Cork and Galway, with involvement in project delivery teams and external stakeholder engagement. The role will involve working closely with multidisciplinary internal teams and external clients, attending project meetings, workshops, consultation events and stakeholder briefings, and supporting live projects from early design stage through to construction.
