Applications are invited for a Permanent post of a Deputy Director within UCD National Virus Reference Laboratory.
The Deputy Director will contribute to the clinical direction, leadership, and strategic development of the National Virus Reference Laboratory (NVRL). In addition, in the Director’s absence, the Deputy will oversee the laboratory Quality Management System and act as Clinical Lead for the NVRL. The Deputy Director, in accordance with her/his experience and expertise will also be expected to act as NVRL Consultant lead in one or more of the following areas: Teaching of Medical Microbiology & Virology; Diagnosis of Imported Viral diseases & Emerging Pathogens; Sexual Health; Sequencing (including next generation technologies) & Bioinformatics; Surveillance.
95 Full Professor (7937) salary scale € 145,741 - € 184,251 per annum.
Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
