Deputy Regional Director of Operations


We are seeking an experienced senior clinical leader for the position of Deputy Regional Director of Operations (Clinical Operations and Compliance).


This is a senior clinical operations role primarily focused on Craddock House Nursing Home, working alongside the Director of Nursing to strengthen clinical governance, quality and regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will support and coach the Director of Nursing and clinical management team, oversee delivery of the home's compliance plan, provide operational clinical support where required, and provide the Regional Director of Operations and registered provider with clear assurance regarding the quality and safety of care. 


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and monitor the home's compliance and improvement plan.
  • Ensure ongoing readiness for HIQA inspections and regulatory requirements.
  • Strengthen clinical governance, audits, risk management and quality improvement.
  • Monitor key areas including care planning, medication management, safeguarding, IPC, incidents and complaints.
  • Support and develop the clinical management team through mentoring, training and competency development.
  • Review staffing, skill mix and clinical workforce requirements.
  • Provide regular clinical risk, compliance and KPI reporting.
  • Promote high standards of resident care, rights and safety.
  • Deputise for the Regional Director of Operations when required.
  • Provide support to other homes within the group as required.


Essential Requirements

  • Registered Nurse with an active NMBI registration.
  • Meets the regulatory requirements to act as Person in Charge.
  • 3–5 years' senior clinical management experience, preferably in residential care for older people.
  • Proven experience with HIQA inspections, compliance and regulatory improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical governance, auditing and quality improvement.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car.


Desirable: Postgraduate qualification in gerontology, clinical governance, quality and patient safety, or healthcare management.
