Purpose of the Role

The CNM 2 Informatics Nurse IPC is responsible for the assessment, planning, training, implementation, evaluation and optimisation of nursing informatics projects pertaining to Infection protection and control.

She/he serves as the primary interface between nursing, patient care services, clinical engineering and information services to ensure multi- and inter-disciplinary project coordination. She/he also participates in communications and project planning for system implementation and integration with other CHI initiatives. She/he is knowledgeable about nursing practice, relevant regulatory mandates, and principles of quality/safety improvement. The nursing informatics projects are planned and implemented using evidence-informed practices for planning, understanding, guiding and delivering optimum patient outcomes.

Eligibility criteria, qualifications and experience

  • RCN/RN Child branch with 5 years Post Graduate experience or RGN with 5 years’ paediatric experience;
  • At least 2 years’ experience as a CNM1 grade or above with clinical, managerial, and administrative capacity to discharge the functions of the role properly;
  • Proficiency in the use of current technologies;
  • Project Management Experience;
  • Candidates must demonstrate evidence of ongoing professional development.
