About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially astute Business Development Executive to play a key role in driving the strategic growth of the business. This position will focus on identifying and capitalising on new market opportunities, building and maintaining senior-level client relationships, and contributing to long-term business development strategy.
This role is particularly suited to an individual either with a strong technical background who is looking to transition into a client-facing, commercially focused position within business development or who is already in a client facing position in the high voltage (HV), energy or adjacent sectors and wishing to take the next step in their careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead in-depth market analysis to identify emerging opportunities, industry trends, and potential areas for expansion.
- Develop and execute robust business development strategies aligned with organisational growth objectives.
- Proactively identify, engage, and build long-term relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers across target sectors.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with technical, operational, and commercial teams to design and deliver tailored, value-driven client solutions.
- Drive the preparation of high-quality proposals, presentations, and bids, ensuring alignment with client requirements and company capabilities.
- Monitor and evaluate business development performance metrics, providing data-driven insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Maintain a strong understanding of market dynamics, competitor activity, and technological advancements to inform strategic decision-making.
- Represent the organisation at industry events, client meetings, and networking opportunities, enhancing brand presence and market positioning.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or a commercially focused role, preferably within high voltage (HV), engineering, energy, or construction-related industries.
- Strong understanding of commercial strategy, market positioning, and business growth methodologies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly developed analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CRM systems is highly advantageous.
- Availability to travel within Ireland and from time to time outside of Ireland
