About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Payroll Assistant to support the accurate and timely delivery of payroll across multiple regions. This role will assist with payroll processing, data preparation and employee query management, while ensuring payroll records are maintained to a high standard.
The successful candidate will work closely with HR, Finance, employees and external payroll providers to support compliant, efficient and well-controlled payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring payroll data is accurate, complete and submitted on time
Prepare and validate payroll inputs, including starters, leavers, salary changes, overtime, benefits, deductions and absence data
Support staff expenses payments
Maintain payroll records, employee files and payroll documentation in line with company procedures and GDPR requirements
Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely, professional and confidential manner
Assist with statutory payroll submissions, year-end processes and audit requests where required
Provide general administrative support to the payroll team and contribute to wider payroll projects
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience in a payroll, finance or HR administration role
Knowledge of payroll processes and basic payroll legislation is desirable
Experience using payroll systems such as BrightPay, Megapay or similar systems would be an advantage
Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Good Excel skills and confidence working with data across multiple systems
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and prioritise workload
Professional communication skills and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately
A proactive, team-focused approach with a willingness to learn and support continuous improvement
Additional European language(s) would be an advantage
