About the Role:

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting the design and delivery of mechanical systems for data center substations. You will work closely with experienced engineers to assist in the development of cooling systems, ventilation, and other critical infrastructure. This internship is an excellent opportunity to enhance your technical knowledge, project coordination skills, and understanding of mechanical systems in a real-world environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Mechanical System Support:

  • Assist in the design and analysis of mechanical systems, including HVAC, ventilation, and fire protection for data center substations.
  • Support the development of energy-efficient and sustainable mechanical solutions.
  • Collaborate with electrical and civil engineers to ensure seamless system integration.

Project Coordination:

  • Assist in tracking project milestones, ensuring mechanical design aligns with project timelines and client specifications.
  • Participate in project meetings, contributing to discussions on design reviews and technical challenges.
  • Support the preparation of technical documentation and design reports.

Technical Learning & Development:

  • Gain exposure to advanced mechanical design tools and industry best practices.
  • Learn about mechanical equipment procurement, installation, and commissioning processes.
  • Shadow senior engineers during site visits to observe real-world implementation.

Documentation & Compliance:

  • Help prepare mechanical design drawings and technical specifications under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Ensure designs adhere to regulatory standards and internal quality protocols.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records of design changes and project progress.

Collaboration & Communication:

  • Work alongside cross-functional teams, including electrical, civil, and project management professionals.
  • Engage with suppliers and contractors to understand the mechanical system procurement process.
  • Communicate technical findings and project updates to internal teams.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, fire protection) and proficiency in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Motivation: A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and tackle technical challenges.
