Cybersecurity is ever evolving. The IT Security team drives a constant change and improvement agenda as we meet regulatory and country-specific standards — including ISO 27001:2022, the NIS2 Directive and GDPR — and adapt to an AI-enabled ecosystem, all alongside the company's exponential growth and acquisition of other businesses. This role is a hands-on leader who manages our change and enhancement agenda, ensuring we deploy secure-by-design principles across all technology projects.

Key Stakeholders

The role works across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including Risk, BAU/Security Operations, IT Operations, Legal, HR, Finance, senior technology leadership and the C-suite, as well as external vendors, delivery partners & auditors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Champion security change across people, process and technology through proactive engagement with cross functional stakeholders.

  • Manage a portfolio of security-driven change initiatives and security input into other change programmes.

  • Communicate the portfolio of change to the broader business and IT stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify dependencies and synergies across change initiatives.

  • Oversee and track the programme within a right-sized governance model, managing scarce resources in a fast-paced environment.

  • Use judgement to prioritise changes that buy down risk, in close collaboration with Risk and BAU Operations.

  • Represent technical changes at the Change Approval Board.

  • Prepare portfolio reporting for technology leadership, the C-suite and external parties as required.

Success in this Role

  • Security change portfolio delivered on time, within budget and to agreed scope.

  • Measurable reduction in risk exposure through prioritised, well-governed change.

  • Smooth transition of changes into BAU service in collaboration with Security Operations Manager.

  • Standardised, repeatable governance, processes and reporting adopted across the portfolio to reduce friction and increase efficiency.

  • High stakeholder satisfaction and clear, timely communication to leadership and delivery teams.

  • Demonstrable progress against regulatory and compliance obligations (ISO 27001:2022, NIS2).

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 6 years' IT/security programme delivery experience (with senior/lead-level exposure) in a matrixed, fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Demonstrable IT resource/capacity management experience with strong commercial focus.

  • Strong technical understanding across infra, platform management and security.

  • Passionate about improving security posture.

  • Experience standardising documentation for handover to BAU and reporting.

  • Working knowledge of recognised delivery and service-management frameworks — e.g. Agile/Lean, ITIL and structured project/change-management methodologies (PMP, Prince2) — with the ability to apply them pragmatically.

  • Hands-on deployment experience, with the ability to coach and develop junior team members.

  • IAM and DLP, Cloud architecture experience a distinct advantage.

Qualifications

  • Project/change-management certification such as PMP, Prince2 or Agile; ITIL certification desirable.

  • Security +, CISSP, CISM or equivalent security toolset certification an advantage.

  • Relevant toolset qualifications desirable.
