About the Role:
The Electrical Project Engineer will play a key role on-site in supporting the delivery of complex Data Centre and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects. The role involves close coordination with design, procurement, commissioning, and construction teams. The successful candidate will oversee the quality and safety of installations, support commissioning efforts, and manage technical interfaces with subcontractors and vendors.
This is a site-based role requiring frequent travel or relocation depending on project needs, ideal for ambitious engineers with 0–5 years of experience looking to accelerate their career in a high-performance EPC environment
Key Responsibilities
Supporting Project Delivery
Assist the design, engineering, and project management teams in delivering project objectives, scope, and electrical requirements to a high standard.
Contribute to maintaining H&MV’s reputation for delivering high quality HV infrastructure projects.
Take responsibility for assigned tasks and support the smooth coordination of project activities.
Design & Construction Support
Review construction issue design packs and help track updates, revisions, and lessons learned.
Participate in weekly design and construction meetings to gain exposure to technical discussions, design decisions, and project coordination.
Prepare structured feedback for the design team under the guidance of senior engineers.
Subcontractor & Site Interface
Attend subcontractor meetings to understand scope, technical requirements, and coordination needs.
Support the monitoring of subcontractor progress and efficiency on site, escalating issues to senior engineers when required.
Assist in ensuring subcontractors are aligned with project specifications, safety standards, and programme expectations.
Materials & Technical Documentation
Support the management and review of material approval requests to ensure compliance with approved specifications.
Assist in processing technical submittals during the construction phase, ensuring documentation is accurate and complete.
Help coordinate procurement activities, including gathering supplier information and reviewing proposals with engineering oversight.
Factory & Site Activities
Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) with the Project Manager to gain exposure to equipment testing, quality checks, and client requirements.
Conduct daily site walks with senior engineers to observe progress, identify issues, and support safety and compliance efforts.
Develop familiarity with HV equipment, installation standards, and construction methodologies.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
Review installations against design specifications, standards, and constructionissue drawings.
Assist in raising QA/QC observations on Procore (or ACC) and support the closeout process.
Help set up, maintain, and track Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) throughout the project lifecycle.
Project Administration & Reporting
Support the setup and ongoing maintenance of the project MS Teams workspace, including uploading weekly progress photos and documentation.
Assist with general project coordination tasks, reporting, and documentation to ensure accurate project records.
Contribute to maintaining organised, uptodate project files and communication channels.
Key Requirements:
3rd Level Qualification in Electrical Engineering or related Discipline.
0-5 years of experience in a related field
Full Clean Drivers License
This is a site-based role requiring frequent travel or relocation depending on project needs
Project management certification is advantageous but not required.
Skills & Competencies:
Experience working with AutoCAD, ETAP, Revit or Cymcap.
Excellent communication skills
