About the role:
Transformer Coordinator is responsible for coordinating transformer installation, maintenance, repair, testing, and commissioning activities. The role ensures safe, efficient, and timely execution of transformer-related work while maintaining compliance with company standards, electrical regulations, and customer requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Coordinate transformer assembly maintenance, outage, repair, and replacement activities.
- Plan and schedule work with internal teams, contractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures, electrical standards, and environmental regulations.
- Liaise with operations, engineering, protection, commissioning, and field crews.
- Track project progress, delivery timelines, and material availability.
- Prepare and coordinate work permits, RAMS and outage documentation, where required by project scope, site rules, or client requirements
- Review transformer test reports and inspection findings.
- Support commissioning and energisation activities.
- Maintain asset documentation, service history, and technical records.
- Assist with fault investigations and root cause analysis.
- Coordinate emergency response activities for transformer failures or outages.
- Ensure all work is completed within budget and schedule targets.
- Attending FAT’s as required.
- Reviewing FAT results.
- Leading investigations into poor transformer testing results.
- Develop and streamline internal procedures for transformer testing, installation, and assembly. Required Qualifications
- Experience in transformer maintenance, substations, or power systems.
- Knowledge of HV/LV electrical equipment and safety procedures.
- Familiarity with transformer testing and diagnostics.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to read electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Competence in Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years in power utilities, substations, transformer services, or industrial electrical environments.
- Experience coordinating outages or maintenance projects.
- Knowledge of Oil Sampling and DGA, Transformer Commissioning, Protection Systems, and SAP/Maximo or similar CMMS systems. Key Skills
